How Is Intimacy Affected in Scleroderma and What Can Be Done to Support It?
Notre équipe
My background is in Psychology and Sexuality, Marriage, and Family Studies, which is what I studied during my undergrad at the University of Waterloo. My focus on scleroderma research began when I started working as a research assistant with Dr. Danielle Rice at St. Joseph Healthcare Hospital. I began contributing to the development of the Scleroderma Mental Health Toolkit and Webinar series, and more recently, have explored how to support intimacy for those with scleroderma.

My presentation, Intimacy and Scleroderma, explores the important yet often overlooked and undiscussed topic of scleroderma's impact on intimacy and sexuality. This research highlights common concerns that people with scleroderma may face during intimacy, and importantly, it offers potential support to ease these concerns. If you are interested in breaking the taboo around discussing intimacy and exploring ways to support it while living with scleroderma, this research may be of great interest to you!

In my spare time, I love being creative! I have drawn and painted since I was young, and recently, I have started to enjoy painting with watercolours. Scrapbooking is another craft that I enjoy, especially because it lets me capture my memories in a fun and special way!
