Elizabeth Yakes Jimenez
Professor
Elizabeth Yakes Jimenez, PhD, MS, RDN is a Professor and the Assistant Dean of Research for the College of Population Health at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, with secondary appointments in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in the School of Medicine. She is a registered dietitian with a PhD in epidemiology from the University of California, Davis, and an MS in public health nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. Her research is focused on developing and testing interventions to better prevent and treat malnutrition and chronic disease and to strengthen access to and quality of health services and clinical-community linkages. This includes research collaborations with SPIN since 2021. She has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles on this work and has mentored over 100 early career faculty, graduate students, medical residents, and medical students in conducting research. She also has lived experience with scleroderma.
