Carolyn Ells
Bioethicist
Carolyn Ells is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Member of the Biomedical Ethics Unit, and Associate Member in the Division of Experimental Medicine at McGill University; and Associate Researcher at the Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research in Montreal, Canada. She conducts theoretical and empirical research in two primary streams: patient centered care theory and practice, and research ethics review processes and policy. She has contributed research in the areas of autonomy and chronic impairment, culture and therapeutic relationships, organizational ethics, and feminist ethical theory. Her research has been funded by CIHR, SSHRC, and the AMA. Among her professional contributions, Dr Ells is co-Coordinator and Archivist of the International Network of Feminist Approaches to Bioethics and serves on the editorial board of IJFAB.
