SPIN at Sclérodermie Québec's Support Group Leader Day
by Marie-Eve Carrier & Claire Fedoruk | May 06, 2019
Last weekend, Dr. Brett Thombs, Director of SPIN, and Marie-Eve Carrier, SPIN Coordinator, had the pleasure of speaking at Sclérodermie Québec's Support Group Leader Day. Dr. Thombs gave an initial overview of the SPIN-SSLED program, a training program for the leaders of scleroderma support groups. This training program, delivered via videoconference, will provide information and resources to help support group leaders feel more confident and supported in their role, contributing to a more positive support group experience. SPIN will begin a clinical trial of the program at the end of the summer. Marie-Eve presented the SPIN-HAND program, a hand exercise program specifically designed for finger and hand limitations in scleroderma patients. This online program is currently undergoing testing and will be available to the public in the spring of 2020. Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you to Gaetan Baril and Diane Collard for organizing this day and inviting SPIN members to join the event!
